Requirements

A three-year National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety / Safety Management. A valid driver’s license. Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in an Occupational Health and Safety environment, with at least 3 years at a supervisory level. Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993) and relevant regulations. Knowledge of risk management, incident investigation, and compliance monitoring. Registration with a relevant professional body (e.g., SACPCMP) will be an added advantage. Skills And Competencies: Strong supervisory skills. Good planning and organisational skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Problem-solving and analytical thinking. Interpersonal and communication skills. Attention to detail and ability to interpret legislation. Computer literacy (MS Office). Good communication, report writing, and facilitation skills. A valid drivers’ license.

Duties

Manage and coordinate the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programmes within the Department. Ensure compliance with the OHS Act and related legislation. Develop, review, and implement OHS policies, procedures, and guidelines. Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, and audits. Facilitate incident investigations and compile reports with recommendations. Coordinate OHS training and awareness programmes. Monitor and support OHS Committees and Representatives. Compile and submit OHS reports to management. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on OHS matters.
