About CheckJobScam
CheckJobScam is a free guide for South African job seekers. We help you spot fake job offers, find real government vacancies, and get your application ready, in plain language.
What you can do here
- Check a job ad, WhatsApp message or email for scam signs
- See scams reported by other job seekers
- Government vacancies from the weekly DPSA circular
- Fill in a Z83 form for government posts
- Build a CV
- Write a cover letter
- Practise spotting scams with a daily game
How we keep it accurate
- Government vacancies come straight from the DPSA circular, and every post links back to the original PDF.
- A real company whose name is being misused gets a warning page after one report. Accusing a company of running a scam itself takes at least two separate reports.
- A scam check is a guide, not a guarantee. A low score does not prove a job is real, so always verify before you share documents or pay anything.
- We are independent and not part of the DPSA, the government or any employer, so always apply through the official channel.
