Requirements

Relevant Degree/National Diploma (NQF level 6) in Behavioural Sciences. At least 5 years relevant experience gained in a supervisory post (NBC2). Successful completion of the Correctional Science Learnership or Basic Training. Computer literate. Valid driver’s licence. Competencies And Attributes: Knowledge of the Correctional Services Act, Act 111 of 1998, as amended. Knowledge of the relevant Sections of the Criminal Procedure Act 51/1977. Assertiveness, networking / liaison with internal and external stakeholders, report writing, negotiation, facilitation, presentation, project management, research, communication, listening, stakeholder management, problem solving and analytical skills. Decision making, people management and empowerment, integrity and honesty, confidentiality and good interpersonal relations.

Duties

Facilitate the development and maintenance of systems for offender profiling mechanisms. Develop and maintain mechanisms to establish and profile crime categories. Conduct profiling and research. Coordinate and facilitate the development and implementation of policies in line with applicable legislation and regulatory requirements. Management of performance information. Manage human resources, finance and assets.
