Requirements

Minimum requirements: Applicants must be in a possession of a Grade 12 Certificate and National Diploma in Nursing, Environmental Health, Safety Management (NQF Level 6) or related equivalent qualification. Registered with a recognised Professional Council. Minimum of 3 years of experience at supervisory level in employee health and wellness environment. A valid driver’s licence. Job related knowledge: Human resource management legislative framework for the public service including: Employee Health and Wellness Legislation (Frameworks, Policies, etc), Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, Employment Equity Act, Public Service Regulations and Public Service Act. Job related skills: Communication (verbal and written). Strategic planning and leadership. Presentation and facilitation. Report writing. People management. Monitoring and evaluation. Negotiation and conflict resolution. Customer focus. Computer literacy.

Duties

Implement and co-ordinate employee health and wellness services to promote employee resilience. Conduct counselling / refer employees within 5 days in accordance with the referral procedure and service level agreement. Render specialised intervention within 24/72 hours in cases of crises / trauma. Promote organisational culture to enhance service delivery through work-life balance and life-skills programmes. Implement and co-ordinate needs based life-skills programmes. Promote physical wellness and healthy life-style programmes. Promote healthy life-style programmes through nutrition, education and awareness. Promote physical wellness and departmental sports and recreation activities. Implement and co-ordinate Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS), Tuberculosis (TB) and Health Promotion Programmes. Co-ordinate HIV / AIDS, TB and Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Management Programmes. Distribute condoms and monitor usage in all offices. Co-ordinate health screening programmes.
