Requirements
Senior Certificate / Grade 12 plus Diploma / Degree (NQF Level 6/7) in Accounting, Financial Management, Public Finance, Cost and Management Accounting, Commerce as recognized by SAQA. A minimum of three (3) years relevant experience in Revenue Management, Patient Administration, Financial Management at supervisory / management (Level 7/8). Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Treasury Regulations, Revenue Management policies, National Health Act, and relevant departmental prescripts. Knowledge of BAS, PEIS and other relevant systems. Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint). Valid driver’s license will be an added advantage.
Duties
Manage and coordinate all revenue management functions within the institution. Monitor patient registration, classification and billing processes to ensure accurate revenue generation. Ensure timely collection of outstanding revenue from patients, medical schemes, Road Accident Fund (RAF) and other debtors. Monitor debtor age analysis and implement debt collection strategies to improve revenue collection. Ensure correct application of the Uniform Patient Fee Schedule (UPFS) and relevant billing policies. Monitor and improve data quality relating to patient administration and billing. Supervise and develop Revenue Management personnel. Coordinate revenue enhancement initiatives and identify opportunities to increase revenue collection. Conduct regular revenue audits and implement corrective measures. Investigate revenue leakages, billing discrepancies and fraud risks. Compile monthly, quarterly and annual revenue reports. Monitor compliance with PFMA, Treasury Regulations and departmental policies. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including, Patient Administration, Internal Audit, Medical Schemes, RAF etc. Provide training and mentoring to Revenue Management staff. Perform any other duties delegated by management.
