Requirements

Grade 10 qualification or A minimum of 7 months relevant experience; A Valid code B (or higher) driving license. Competencies: Knowledge of the following: Procedure to operate the vehicle e.g. procedures to obtain trip authorities complete the logbooks of the motor vehicle, to obtain consumables (e.g. petrol) and obtain basic services (e.g. fixing a flat tyre); Prescripts for the correct utilisation of the motor vehicle, how and for what purposes the motor vehicle can be utilised, what is the requirements for the storage of the vehicle; Procedures to ensure that the motor vehicle is maintained properly; Must be physically fit and able to move heavy equipment (responsible for the loading and off-loading of goods and motorcycles; Responsible for the safe movement of goods and knowledge on how to safely secure motorcycles when being transported. Skills in the following: Computer Literacy; Language; Planning and Organisation; Good Verbal and Written Communication; Customer Care; Creative Thinking; Must be physically fit and able to move heavy equipment; Willingness to work irregular hours and meet tight deadlines.

Duties

Provide a transport service for staff and students at the Gene Louw Traffic College; Provide a messenger service within the Directorate; Render support to the Transport Officer with the maintenance and cleaning of official vehicles in the Directorate; Ad hoc tasks.
