ENROLLED NURSES

Requirements

Senior Certificate/Grade 12 or equivalent. Enrolled Nursing certificate that allows registration with the SANC as Enrolled Nurse. Experience: No experience required. Knowledge And Skills: Knowledge of nursing care processes and procedures, nursing statutes, and other relevant legal frameworks such as: Nursing Act, Health Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Patients Right Charter, Batho Pele Principles, Public Service Regulations, Labour Relations Act, Disciplinary Code and Procedure, Grievance Procedure. Knowledge of SANC rules and regulations. Good communication, writing, facilitation and interpersonal skills. Ability to function effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Basic understanding of clinical nursing care within a specialized unit.

Duties

Development and implementation of basic patient care plan. Provide basic clinical nursing care within the psychiatric unit under supervision. Effective utilization of resources. Maintain professional growth/ethical standards and self-development. Maintain patient hygiene, comfort and safety. Observe and report changes in patient condition. Maintain accurate records and reports. Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control standards. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care.
