Requirements

National Senior Certificate/Matric Certificate/Grade 12 with a National Diploma / Degree, NQF Level 6 in Sport Management / Human Movement Science. Understanding of the National Sport and Recreation Plan will be added advantage. Must have an understanding of the Sport and Recreation environment/sector within Nelson Mandela Bay. Good presentation, verbal and writing skills. Willingness to work under pressure. Computer skills. Be a South African citizen. Must have no criminal record. Applicants must be unemployed and never participated in an internship programme previously.

Duties

Assist Sport and Recreation sub sections in the administration and Implementation of programmes/events in the district. Collect data and compile stats on sport and recreation programmes/events in the district. Assist in the delivery of sport and recreation equipment/attire to beneficiaries. Compile Team List. Communicate with communities/clubs and schools on sport and recreation programme requirements and compliance. Assist in the co-ordination of community festivals/coaching clinics and special projects. Develop and compile database of sport and recreation information. Assist sub sections in the compilation of monthly reports and collection of portfolios of evidence. Social Cohesion and Development: using sport and recreation for youth development, crime prevention, health promotion, inclusion of people with disabilities. Assist in organising and coordination of Sport and recreation activities. Liaise between DSRAC and sport and recreation structure and DoE. Compile reports, register athletes in sport and recreation schools, hubs, and club participating in sport and recreation events. Compile needs analysis and capture data. Assist in the procurement process.
