IT TECHNICIAN: INFROMATION COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY

Requirements

National Senior Certificate plus A+, N+ OR National Diploma IT. 3 years’ experience working as Technician in the ICT Environment. A valid Driver’s License. To ensure that all technological aspects of the department, including schools are functioning effectively and efficiently. To perform an array of tasks related to computer systems, hardware, and software at levels of the ECDoE.

Duties

Configuration and technical / network support of BAS, PERSAL, EXAMS, EMIS, SASAMS. Microsoft OS, applications and office 365 email setup and configuration. Setup school network for teachers and learners. Installing and configuring hardware and software components to ensure usability. Troubleshooting hardware and software issues. Repairing or replacing damaged hardware. Upgrading the entire system to enable compatible software on all computers. Installing and upgrading anti-virus software to ensure security at the user level. Performing tests and evaluations on new software and hardware. Providing support to users and being the first line support of contact for error reporting. Establishing good relationships with all departments and colleagues. Managing technical documentation. Conducting regular system backups. Ensuring the smooth running of all IT systems, including anti-virus software, print services, and email provision. Providing technical reports for Districts / Head Office
