Minimum educational qualification: Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R254) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. or 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (R174) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R1497 or R171 plus R1497) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. Registration with a professional council: Registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse. Experience: A minimum of 7 years appropriate /recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. Inherent requirement of the job: Willingness to work rotational shifts, including day and night duty, as well as weekends and public holidays in accordance with operational requirements. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Knowledge of legal framework and regulations regarding nursing practice. Good leadership and people management skills. Maintain constructive relationships with members of the multi-disciplinary team. Computer literacy and Appropriate financial management skills. The ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
Duties
Supervise and ensure the provision of effective and efficient patient care through adequate nursing care. Coordinate and monitor the implementation of nursing care plan and evaluation thereof. Provide relevant health information to health care users to assist an achieving optimal health care and rehabilitation of patients. Maintain constructive working relationships with nursing and other stakeholders (i.e. interprofessional, inter-sectoral and multi-disciplinary teamwork). Participate in analysis, formulation and implementation of the nursing guidelines, practices, standards mandatory procedures. Manage and monitor proper utilization of human, financial and physical resources.
