Requirements

Minimum educational qualification: Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R254 plus R880) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. Registration with a professional council: Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse. Experience: Grade 1: None. Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse in General Nursing. Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse in General Nursing. Inherent requirement of the job: Valid Code EB/EC drivers’ licence. Willingness to perform after-hour training service for staff members on night. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Good interpersonal, planning, and organisational skills. Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel & Outlook) Knowledge of the nursing education and training.

Duties

Facilitate the in-service training/updating of skills and competencies as well as the orientation programme for nurses. Assist with effective management and utilisation of physical, material and financial resources within the nurse training department. Maintain ethical standards and promote professional growth and self – development. Participate in personal development, research and quality initiatives. Implement assessment strategies to determine staff and learners’ competencies.
