An appropriate B Degree (NQF level 7) or Three (3) year Diploma (NQF 6) in Labour Relations. At least two (2) years’ experience in a labour relations environment. Demonstrable competency in acting Independently, Professionally, Accountable and with Credibility. Sound knowledge of the Labour Relations regulatory environment, including but not limited to Labour Relations Act, Public Service Act, Public Service Regulations, and applicable Collective Agreements. Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure. Computer Literacy. Driver’s License is a requirement. Job knowledge. Initiative. Duties
Attend to labour relations matters with a view to resolve them. Prepare submissions for approval. Liaise with the NPA business units and external stakeholders. Capture data on the case management system and on PERSAL and maintain ER database. Extract and analyse PERSAL reports related to labour relations and report thereon. Compile labour relations reports and memoranda. Provide general labour relations advice. Research relevant legislation and policy and procedures and case law to inform management of cases. Analyse data and trends and participate in the development of mitigation plans. Assist with facilitation and investigation of grievance, complaints and misconduct cases. Represents the NPA in disciplinary matters. Facilitate labour relations training. Represents the NPA in external dispute. Assist with general administrative functions and travel arrangements.
