A fake Boxer job post once reached hundreds of thousands of people on Facebook, and versions of it are still circulating. Boxer does not hire that way. Here is the real process.
The Official Ways to Apply
Online: Go to boxer.co.za, open Contact Us and then Careers, and follow the Apply link through to Boxer's recruitment portal at boxer.erecruit.co.

- Browse categories such as butchery, distribution centre and commercial, and apply
Type boxer.co.za yourself rather than tapping a link from a post. Scammers register lookalike domains that copy the portal login screen and harvest your ID number.
In-store: For store-level jobs such as cashier or general assistant, you can ask at your nearest Boxer whether they are taking applications and leave a short CV with the manager.

The Fake "Boxer Is Hiring" Scam
Scammers copy the Boxer logo, post "new store opening, 200 positions, WhatsApp your CV now," and give a cellphone number. The "new store opening" framing is what makes it spread, because it explains why so many jobs would appear at once and why you have not seen the vacancy elsewhere.
Once you message the number, the script runs the same way every time:
- They tell you the job is yours, subject to one small step
- They ask for R150 to R350 for a "uniform," "training," or a "background check"
- They want it by eWallet, voucher, or a payment at a till
- Once you pay, the number goes quiet
Hold on to the one rule that beats every version: a real employer pays you. You never pay to be hired. Boxer will never charge you to apply or to start.

If you paid a fake recruiter, tell your bank straight away and report it to the police. If you only shared your ID number and contact details, watch for follow-up scam messages, pay nothing further, and then apply properly through boxer.erecruit.co.
