PROFESSIONAL NURSE (SPECIALTY) (VARIOUS) GRADE 1 - 2 (PN - B1]) (SHIFTS)

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience: A National Senior /Grade 12/ Matric plus Basic R425 qualification [i.e. diploma/degree] in nursing or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council as Professional Nurse. A post basic nursing qualification in one of the above specialty nursing areas with duration of at least 1 year, accredited with the SANC in one of the specialties referred to. Current registration with the South African Nursing Council [SANC] as Professional Nurse. Experience for Grade 1: A minimum of four [4] years appropriate /recognisable nursing experience after registration as Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council [SANC] in General Nursing. Experience for Grade 2: A minimum of fourteen [14] years appropriate / recognizable nursing experience after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing and at least ten [10] years of the period referred to above must be appropriate / recognizable experience after obtaining the one [1] year post-basic qualification in Speciality. Must be able to work shifts [Including night duty and public holidays]. Willingness to work extra hours on short notice. Knowledge And Skills: Knowledge of nursing care processes and procedures, nursing statutes and other relevant legal frameworks such as: Nursing Act, Health Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Patients’ right charter, Batho Pele principles, public service regulations, 2016, Labour Relations Act, 1995, Disciplinary code and procedure, Grievance procedure etc. Good communication, Report writing, Facilitation, Liaison, Networking and Problem-Solving Skills. Information Management. Knowledge of Management, Planning and organising. Personal Attributes: Integrity and professionalism. Attention to detail and accuracy. Accountability and reliability. Proactive and results-oriented. Calm under pressure and adaptable to change. Respectful and diplomatic with stakeholders. Team player. Committed to continuous learning and Batho Pele principles

Duties

Provide direction and supervision for the implementation of the Nursing plan [Clinical practice/quality patient care]. Implement standards, practices, criteria and indicators for quality Nursing [quality of practice]. Practice nursing & health care in accordance with the laws and regulations relevant to nursing and health care. Maintain a constructive working relationship with nursing and other stakeholders. Utilize human, material and physical resources efficiently and effectively.
