Requirements

Relevant Degree/National Diploma (NQF level 6) in Behavioural Sciences. Successful completion of the Corrections Science Learnership/Basic Training. At least seven (7) years relevant experience in a supervisory post (CB3). Registered and accredited as an Assessor and Moderator will be an added advantage. Computer literacy. Valid driver’s licence. Competencies And Attributes: Financial management. Physical wellness. Problem-solving and decision-making, facilitation and presentation, planning and organizing, project management, conflict management, report writing, coaching and mentoring and time management skills. Change management. Lead and control. Ability to lead a team. Confidentiality, integrity and honesty. Understanding the Public Service Policies and Legislative Framework. Service delivery and client orientation. Assertiveness and ability to network. Influence and impact. Ability to apply strategic thinking. Willingness to travel.

Duties

Provide and supervise the delivery of instructional and experiential/workplace learning. Supervise the facilitation of presentations and the administration of classes in the correctional environment. Prepare and supervise the preparation and administration of assessments within the correctional environment. Provide safe and secure detention, rehabilitation process and humane incarceration in a correctional environment. Supervise the performance of custodial duties within a correctional/remand detention environment. Management of performance information. Manage human resources, finance and assets.
